Opening Doors to Attainable Housing

This is a one-hour webinar that’s going to give an overview of some of the housing trends we’re seeing around the state and tools that communities can use to open doors of their own to a greater variety and availability of attainable housing. We’re going to start by going over key housing terms and trends, making sure we’re on the same page establishing the same foundation as we have these conversations. We will go over some zoning tools that communities are using to reach their housing goals and increase the availability and variety of housing types. Then we’re going to move into some considerations for place we will be talking about rural, urban, suburban. What type of place is your community and how does housing solutions and challenges present differently in each of them? Followed with some policy tools that go beyond zoning.  We’ll round out our time together going over some quick case studies of communities making progress here in the State of Michigan, and some additional resources that you can use as you continue along your housing journey.
